Usage Rights & Copyright Policy

1. Copyright Ownership

All artworks created by Stan Lauwers (including paintings, sketches, studies, digital images, prints, and commissioned works) are protected by copyright law.

Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, all copyrights and intellectual property rights remain the exclusive property of Stan Lauwers, even after the sale of the original artwork.

The purchase of an artwork does not transfer copyright ownership.

2. Permitted Use (Private Collectors)

When purchasing an original artwork or print, the buyer is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Display the artwork in a private home or private office
• Display the artwork in a gallery
• Resell the physical artwork

The buyer may not:

• Reproduce the artwork
• Create derivative works
• Use the artwork for commercial purposes
• Use the artwork for marketing, branding, merchandise, or advertising
• Digitally reproduce or distribute the artwork
• Mint the artwork as an NFT or use it in blockchain-related projects

Without prior written permission from Stan Lauwers.

3. Commercial Use License

Commercial use (including but not limited to advertising, branding, packaging, editorial publication, website use, or promotional materials) requires a separate written licensing agreement.

Such agreement must specify:

• Scope of use
• Territory
• Duration
• Media formats
• Compensation

No commercial rights are granted unless explicitly stated in writing.

4. Commissioned Works

For commissioned artworks:

• Copyright remains with Stan Lauwers unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• The client receives usage rights as specified in the commission agreement.
• Any additional usage beyond the agreed scope requires written approval.

5. Moral Rights

Stan Lauwers retains all moral rights to the artwork, including:

• The right to be credited as the creator
• The right to object to distortion, modification, or misuse of the artwork

6. Digital Images & Website Content

All images displayed on websites, social media platforms, or promotional materials remain the intellectual property of Stan Lauwers.

Downloading, copying, screenshotting, or redistributing images without written consent is prohibited.

7. Resale & Exhibition

Collectors may resell or exhibit the physical artwork, provided:

• Proper attribution is given to Stan Lauwers
• The artwork is not altered
